High Risk Pregnancies • Gestational Diabetes If the blood sugar goes high in expectant mothers then they may suffer from gestational diabetes.Here, the sugar level may be normal before pregnancy but it increases during pregnancy. Depending on the health condition of the mother, the sugar level can become normal after pregnancy. Expectant mothers are at risk of gestational diabetes if they have a family history of diabetes or have a history of gestational diabetes during their previous pregnancy. Also, if the Body Mass Index (BMI) of the mother is high then she may have the risk of gestational diabetes.
